Unlikely Books is a boutique publisher that produces three to five books, mostly poetry books by a single author, per year.

Unlikely Books was founded in 2005 as an offshoot of Unlikely Stories, a web-magazine of literature, art, and social criticism. Unlikely Stories was founded in 1998 by Jonathan Penton, and has been running under his guidance more-or-less continuously since then.
